Food for the Future

Due to the lack of available markets in some developing nations many rural areas are not well connected to the other cities. Travelling in and out of these rural areas is thus a huge difficulty. The number of markets is inadequate as many of these farmers are unable to bring their crops to sell at the markets due to vast distances. Likewise, consumers have trouble travelling to markets are unable to get the food they require. Statistics show that 16% of the rural population around the world is unable to have convenient access to markets.

 

Since they cannot access the markets, one possible solution will be to bring the food to the consumers, using technology. Using mobile markets, the accessibility of the markets can be greatly increased.
