Deforestation

Deforestation

Over the years, plenty of the worlds’ forests have been sacrificed for agricultural purposes.

Destruction of Biodiversity

Destruction of Biodiversity

Animals and are in danger of becoming extinct every year due of deforestation. Monoculture also reduces the biodiversity of organisms that depend and maintain the agroecosystems.

Climate Change

Climate Change

Accelerated production and release of greenhouse gases from agricultural activity erodes the Earth’s ozone layer, causing elevated global temperatures and water-levels.

Soil Erosion & Degradation

Soil Erosion & Degradation

Over irrigation and poor drainage systems increases soil salinity making it difficult for plants to absorb. Soil erosion due to loosened soil, increasing chances of soil erosion and degradation.

Increased Pollution

Increased Pollution

Improper disposal of chemical waste from agricultural activities, and run-offs from soil erosion into nearby water bodies, pollute water supply and damage marine ecosystems.
