Food for the Future
{OUR ANSWER TO WORLD HUNGER}
Economic
One of the perceived problems of developing and promoting genetically-modified products is that genetically engineering companies like Monsanto may monopolize the industry upon gaining intellectually property rights for the production of genetically-modified food.
However, at the same time, there have been positive economic impacts of genetically-modified food. Golden rice would cost just $100 for every life saved from vitamin A deficiency whereas supplementation programs costs $4,300 for every life they save in India, and fortification programs cost about $2,700 for each life saved.
Genetically-Modified Food: Implications on the Economy

Environment
With biotechnology, crops need less pesticide than normal, benefiting the environment and bringing economies for growers.
